Identity Packages – Design & Marketing for Nashville Realtors

I loved teaming up with this Nashville, Tennessee based realtor to design his identity package for a new realty!  He came to the table wanting to throw out the standard run-of-the-mill realtor business card with the cheesy 80’s style glamour headshot (that checks just about every line item on the ‘bad graphic design’ list!) and opted instead to go with something current and eye catching and yet absolutely practical.  After all, good design is about function, not just pretty graphics.

The difference between designing a good identity package and a great one is RESEARCH.  Before starting a design or even sketching an idea I start by asking the right questions and (hopefully) finding the right answers.  Before beginning the design process we discussed the goals of the brand, target demographics, home prices, and brand personality.  I researched what other realtys in the area are doing, and also what they are not doing to create a strategy that would make his identity package pop out from a sea of similar businesses in Middle Tennessee.  In the end we had a great time and ended up with an outcome that he was thrilled with.

Creative brochure design for realtors

Nashville Realtor Logo:  Ever noticed that many realty logo designs are based on straight lines and tend to look the same?  It makes sense when trying to fit them on yardsigns but does that mean they all have to be similar or are there ways to change the shape without losing functionality?  I tried to create a logo that was a different shape that would really stand out as people drove past.  We specifically chose the colors yellow, blue, and white so that the colors would pop against the green tones of a yard, or the earth tones in the middle of winter.

Die-Cut Realtor Business Card:  Die-cut cards are a sure way to make your business card stand out.  They require more of an up-front expense to print but every client that I’ve had that has gone with a specialty shaped business card has said that the response from clients is worth the investment.

Non-Standard Brochure: The brochure for this realty may be my favorite part of the entire identity package.  Instead of the traditional dimension trifold we went with a trifold that folds to become a square and fits into a cardboard CD/DVD sleeve.  Perfect for customizing and still easy to mail, in addition to the brochure he could also fit CD’s with other marketing or educational information, inserts targeted at certain neighborhoods – and so much more!

In addition to the logo, business card, and brochure we also did eye catching flier, bus stop signs, yard signs, and a wrap for his mini!
